For days now, Texas has been suffering from one of the worst flood disasters in decades. Hurricane Harvey is responsible for at least 5 deaths and more than a dozen injuries. It’s predicted that more than 30,000 people will be moved into shelters and 450,000 people will need to seek disaster assistance.

Also for days now, President Trump has been tweeting about the situation, which has many people frustrated and furious. Some see his tweets as meaningless and unsympathetic, as he has used the disaster as an opportunity to slip through major announcements such as the pardoning of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Trump also took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the disaster but came out looking like a selfish child, thanking people in Texas for their spirit. many people expressed that it seemed like Trump was making the disaster all about him rather than providing any actual sympathy.

Meanwhile, Fmr. President Obama took to Twitter to express his thoughts and sympathy for the people in Texas.

Obama was quick to thank “the first responders and people helping each other out.” He also linked to a Red Cross donations page for people all across America to help support their fellow Americans. With only one sentence, Obama taught Trump what it looks like when a real President responds: “That’s what we do as Americans.”

Twitter instantly responded and expressed their love for Obama.
