This weekend, Trump tweeted a reminder that, per his “Presidential Proclamation,” Sunday is “National Prayer Day.”

Upon hearing the startling news that Trump would moved to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program, or DACA, with a 6-month delay, Chelsea Clinton swiftly took to Twitter to call out Trump’s hypocrisy.

Clinton reminded the President that his decision to “disrupt hundreds of thousands of #DREAMers’ lives” is not quite in line with what a National Prayer Day represents.
DREAMers are those who have benefitted from the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act “who were brought to the country at an early age without documentation but have assimilated to U.S. culture and have been educated by U.S. school systems.”
Because they were brought into the United States by no fault of their own, but know no life outside of this country, many politicians on both sides of the aisle support this program and those affected by it.
Trump’s decision to end it – and especially on a day that he himself set aside for introspection and compassion – is a testament to just how empty his words are.
