This is the moment all Americans have been waiting for since news first broke about Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting with a Russian lawyer to receive dirt on Hillary Clinton. Don Jr. claimed that the meeting was fruitless, but new information begs to differ.
According to the Associated Press, the Russian-American lobbyist who just confirmed his presence at the June meeting, Rinat Akhmetshin, also confirmed that the lawyer indeed possessed a folder containing documents related to the DNC.
via the AP:
“Akhmetshin said Veselnitskaya brought with her a plastic folder with printed-out documents that detailed what she believed was the flow of illicit funds to the Democratic National Committee. Veselnitskaya presented the contents of the documents to the Trump associates and suggested that making the information public could help the Trump campaign, he said.”
Akhmetshin revealed the following comment made by the Russian lawyer:
“This could be a good issue to expose how the DNC is accepting bad money.”
Trump Jr. said in an earlier statement:
“No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information. She then changed subjects and began discussing the adoption of Russian children and mentioned the Magnitsky Act. It became clear to me that this was the true agenda all along and that the claims of potentially helpful information were a pretext for the meeting.”
