A fresh New York Times bombshell report finally connected Donald Trump Jr. to the Russia scandal and also pulled Jared Kushner and Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, back into the mix.
The initial report linked Donald Trump Jr. to a Kremlin-affiliated attorney. Donald Trump Jr. first claimed he had met the lawyer to discuss a Russian adoption program, which sounded fishy at best.
The report became clearer when information regarding the Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, offering Donald Trump Jr. damaging information on Hillary Clinton was added.
Donald Trump Jr. has since given ABC News his new response. His full statement can be read below:
— ABC News (@ABC) 09. јул 2017.
In the statement, Trump Jr. claims his business associate from the Miss Universe Pageant set up the meeting with Veselnitskaya. Trump Jr. had invited Manafort and Kushner to join him, in case the meeting could have aided Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.
According to Donald Jr., there was “no meaningful information” shared during the meeting – including any damaging information on Hillary Clinton – and his father “knew nothing of the meeting.”
It’s hard to believe Trump Jr. since his story changed in a hurry. What happened to the Russian adoption program he had first mentioned?
