There’s a growing rift between President Trump and Sec. of State Rex Tillerson. A recent report suggesting Tillerson called Trump a “moron” seems to have gotten the better of Trump, even after he called it “Fake News.” Perhaps since then, Trump realized the story was real news because he just took a petty shot at Tillerson.
In a new interview, Trump said of Tillerson, “We have a very good relationship. We disagree on a couple of things, sometimes I’d like him to be a little bit tougher.“
“But other than that we have a very good relationship,” Trump added.
The “moron” report added that Vice President Mike Pence convinced Tillerson to stay in his post along with other key members of the Trump administration who respect Tillerson.
Tillerson responded to the report on Wednesday, saying, “The vice president has never had to persuade me to remain as secretary of State because I have never considered leaving.”
Trump doesn’t appreciate the way Tillerson cares more about the U.S. than following his orders. The president recently undermined Tillerson on Twitter.
